Youth Groups

We have started a partnership with Lawrence Ave. United Methodist Church and Peace Lutheran Church for Middle School and Senior High youth interested in a time of fellowship, learning, and fun! We rotate between the churches, generally meeting at Peace Lutheran on the first Sunday of each month, Lawrence Ave. UMC on the second Sunday, and First Congregational UCC on the third Sunday. Meetings are open to all youth 7 their friends, starting at 5:00pm and wrapping-up at 7:00pm. On the fourth ( and the fifth) Sundays, we usually have special events & activities, often gathering at Lawrence Ave. UMC to see special films or go on activities in the community. We are hoping to have a youth mission project during the summer, if everyone's schedules can be coordinated to find a convenient week. For more details, please check with the youth leaders in any of the three churches to see what our latest ideas include. In addition to the "Tri-Church Youth Group" {Try Church!} we also have special events at our own church for our youth, such as our annual Spaghetti Supper, and community-based activities and fund-raisers for worthy causes. And there are many other groups for adolescents who meet at our church, including Boy Scouts, Crew, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and even an occasional 4-H group. Friends of Chrystal holds their open meetings on the second Thursday of each month from 7-9 pm at church. Just as adolescence itself is a time of change, so are the programs we develop to meet the changing needs of our youth, and the ever-changing composition of our youth groups. Creativity & flexibility are celebrated here!
